Sally Spillane
November 21, 2010 by Nevia.
My favorite radio person is Sally Spillane. She is a Master Gardener and a host of the Garden Show on WKZE 98.1 FM in Red Hook, NY. Sally is an upbeat person, just wonderful personality and totally fun to be around. Just like Sally the entire staff of WKZE is awesome, one always feel welcome when you enter the door of the office of WKZE, they treat you like a family.
Thank you WKZE!

Testimonial from LoveApple Farm
November 17, 2010 by Nevia.
If you have fallowed the tests with Deer Defeat Repellent on a beautiful local orchard in Chatham, New York, we have a final piece of our successful commercial testing. We are sharing with you the original Testimonial from the owner of LoveApple Farm. We are very gratefully to the owner Chris Loken for giving us this opportunity. The tests were performed on small cherries trees which are the most vulnerable and 1 acre of doughnut peach trees. The owner challenged us with planting a row of 1,000 ft of tomatoes and two rows of 1,000 of pumpkins. Deer Defeat had performed great to the task of deflating the deer. Deer can do a lot of damage throughout the orchard. There was visible presence of deer in the orchard but they did not touch anything that was protected with Deer Defeat Repellent. You can read more on the whole procedure and use of Deer Defeat by scrolling through our blog at different times in the summer. Deer Defeat Repellent has proven 100% successful for Commercial Use and we are very happy with the results.
Love Apple Orchard has a verity of young fruit trees for us to conduct the tests and mature fruit trees where people can come and pick their own fruit and just enjoy a day in the orchard. Love Apple Farm has a charming animal farm so kids can pet the animals or just watch them in their gated area. There setting is beautiful with the Farm Market near by. It’s hard to resist driving by and not stopping. You can smell fresh apple pie being baked, peach pie when peaches are in season, all kind of berry’s are used for baking, cherries…All the baking is done on premises from the fresh fruit picked in the orchard. There is nothing more pleasing but a hot slice of fresh baked pie and a scoop of ice cream. Farm Market offers fresh soups, variety of sandwiches and locally made ice cream. It’s a great place for people to come with family, relax and enjoy and make it a fun day. So if you are driving on 9H and see the sign of LoveApple Farm stop for a great lunch or ice cream.
There is always abundance of fresh fruit, vegetables, tomatoes, pumpkins all grown on the premises.
If you are a farmer struggling with deer eating your young fruit trees or your vegetable gardens we have a solution for you. Our mission is to make your life easier. If you have tried other products but not Deer Defeat Repellent, give us a try! Remember, Deer Defeat just can’t be beat!

Happy Glorious Fall
November 14, 2010 by Nevia.
If you are fortunate to live in the beautiful Hudson Valley I don’t think that there is a better or nicer season of the year than the Fall. We all love fall, just not what follows after the fall (at least not me!).
The leaves are just splendid colors and the entire Hudson Valley looks like a Frederick Churchill painting.
For those that are not familiar with this area, we are sharing some pictures, from the heart of Hudson Valley and our beautiful Hudson River.
This is the harvest season. The pumpkins are ripe and sold at the stands along with various apples, pears, squashes, mums, tomatoes, peppers and native grapes. We are hoping for few more weeks of nice warm weather rather than the frost.
This is the time for colorful Mums. Make sure you spray them as soon as you bring them home. The Deer love Mums. If you have annuals still flowering, don’t forget to spray them with Deer Defeat repellent as well.
Fall is the time to plant tulips, daffodils, irises or any other of your favorite bulbs. Dip the bulbs into Deer Defeat repellent for few minutes and let them dry before you plant them. This will prevent squirrels or other animals from digging them out.
Fall is the time for planting and transplanting and taking your annuals indoors. If you have Lilies and Hostas you should dig them out, divide them now and transplant part of the roots to another spot on your property or share them with a friend. Make sure to use a sharp straight shovel so you can perform a clean cut. Your Lilies and Hostas will grow better after you divide them because they won’t be so crowded and your friends will thank you for a beautiful gift! We all know Deer love Day Lilies and Hostas as much as we do. Don’t forget to tell your friends about Deer Defeat Repellent so they can protect their new plants also. I don’t trim the green leaves off my Lilies or Hostas until the spring. Another great trick is to use the dry leaves as mulch, this protects the roots during the cold winter months.
Soon it will be time to start thinking about using Deer Defeat for the winter protection; we will cover that topic closer to the end of November. For now, thank you for tuning in. Hope you enjoy this beautiful time of the year and all it has to offer.
